Ray enjoyed golfing with his sons and friends, hunting, and openly rooting for the New York Yankees. He enjoyed his work as a high school and youth sports coach in the town of Millbury. Ray spent over 20 years coaching high school football and baseball for the Woolies. In 2004, he was honored as the Aflac Assistant Football Coach of Year, a nationally recognized award for his dedication to his players.
