Richard Coulter Obituary
SUTTON - Richard A. Coulter, 85, of Sutton, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at St. Camillus Health Center in Northbridge.
He leaves his wife of 63 years, Carolyn L. (Baylies) Coulter; a son, Glenn Coulter and his wife Dale of Sutton; two grandchildren, Seth and Rebekah Coulter, and two great grandchildren, Abigail and Andrew. He was predeceased by his grandson Christopher Coulter and four siblings, Robert Coulter, Annie Hamilton, Mary Sandy and Leslie Hamilton.
He was born in Worcester, son of Robert J. and Elizabeth (Graham) Coulter and was a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II. He served in the European and North African Theatre and spent most of his service time on the USS Algonquin.
Mr. Coulter owned and operated Pioneer Linen Rental Service and Putnam Laundry for several years. He then worked as facilities manager at the Belmont Home in Worcester and later retired from Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster. He was a member of North Uxbridge Baptist Church, served as a special officer on the Sutton police department and enjoyed watching old western movies.
Mr. Coulter's family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at St. Camillus Health Center for the wonderful care they provided.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m in LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Old Howard Cemetery, Sutton. Visiting hours are Thursday, May 16 from 5-8 p.m at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Uxbridge Baptist Church, P.O. Box 365, North Uxbridge, MA 01538.

To the Coulter family-
It was a great priviledge to attend to Richard during health and sickness. He was always a challenging gracious patient whom I looked forward to seeing. I know he is now resting in peace and I send you and your family my sincere thoughts and sympathy.

Dear Glenn and Dale,
We're sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was a wonderful neighbor, who looked out for us!
As a single woman at the time I bought the house, he expressed concern that I wouldn't be able to take care of such a huge yard (up to his standards, of course!) He was pleasantly surprised when I proved him wrong!! He was always available to lend a hand, with snowplowing or advice!
He looked out for our cat Patrick, who despite Dick's booming voice, allowed him to get near. He'd chuckle when Patrick would walk by Byron totally unnoticed.
He was so happy when Rocky and I told him we were geting married..."finally!"
We will miss him dearly.

Dear Glenn and Dale;
Your father was special to me-he shared his wisdom and softness with me. He was my favorite uncle and enjoyed his participation in our family vacations at OldOrchard, Maine. I will miss him and hope you are comforted by you faith, friends and God.

Glen and Dale and family, You were such caring and loving folks for U.Richie.He was so proud of you all.As you know family was everything to him as well as his faith.He adored A.Carolyn and told her so about 10 times a day! He was a favorite uncle of mine.He was thrilled to see me and always ended our visit with "now be a good girl".I look forward to seeing uncle Richie again when Jesus returns.Love to you all. Glenn...I am so sorry to hear about your Dad and his passing. I remember him from when I was just a little girl. My grandparents were his neighbors for years and I remember him always speaking with my grandfather Ken Swallow. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
