Robert Jussaume Obituary

Robert R. Jussaume, 74, formerly of Lyons Road, died Sunday, Oct. 15, in Overlook Masonic Health Care, Charlton, surrounded by his family.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Eileen M. (Gardiner) Jussaume; 2 daughters, Robyn D. Strenk and her husband Thomas of Dudley, and Karen D. Geddes of Webster; a son, Steven R. Jussaume and his wife Denise of Douglas; 7 grandchildren, Kaitlyn Geddes, Benjamin, Matthew and Lauren Strenk, Stephanie and Kirsten Jussaume, and Julianna Kendall; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Jussaume in 1955.

He was born in Worcester and raised in East Douglas, the son of Raymond and Marie (Petrie) Jussaume. He lived in Newport, NH before moving to Dudley in 1964. He graduated from Towle High School in Newport, NH in 1949, and then attended the New Hampshire Institute of Technology for 2 years, majoring in art. He also completed courses at Clark University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving from 1950 to 1954.

Mr. Jussaume was the Personnel Director at Hyde Tool Company in Southbridge for 32 years, retiring in 1994.

He was a member of the Church of the Reconciliation in Webster and sang in the church choir for many years. He was a former member of the Personnel Director's Club of Southern Worcester County. Skilled in woodworking, he designed the 14 stations of the cross that hang in his church. Above all else, he was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren.

The funeral, with military honors, will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 19, in the Church of the Reconciliation, 5 North Main St., Webster. Burial will be in Waldron Cemetery, Dudley. Calling hours are from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 18, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street. Donations in his memory may be made to either the Alzheimer's Association, 56 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140 or to the American Diabetes Association, Mass. Memorial Processing Center, PO Box 31160, Hartford, CT 06150 or to the Church of the Reconciliation Memorial Fund, 5 North Main St., Webster, MA 01570.

I remember Uncle Bob best for showing off the latest car he purchased and sitting down in the den enjoying a good pipe and the weekend football games.
