Ward, whom we affectionately called Uncle Toad, was just the best Uncle anyone could ask for. Even though we lived so far away, any time I talked to him it was like we lived next door and we always felt welcomed to visit. My heart goes out to the rest of my family dealing with this uncalled for loss. He is gone too soon and he will be missed forever.

Dear Jill, Jess and Paige,

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Ward's tragic passing. He will be remembered in our home as the vibrant runner who could climb Pigeon Hill on his daily runs and make it look effortless, and more importantly... as a loving father, husband, and neighbor full of life always ready with a smile and that friendly wave.

Wishing you strength and love,

Eileen (Bennett) Stam
