To our beloved Uncle "Peter Rabbit"...we will miss your round table discussions and your opinions at the Poplar House, your singing to us for hours when we were young and old, did you know you were a star to us as children? You will always be the Uncle we loved to aggrevate every chance we got but we knew you enjoyed it too. We loved to see your face and ears get red! You were the Uncle with the cool car that let me drive it every year in the Homecoming Parade at High School if I'd promise to wash it for you every weekend! Even then, you'd slip me $10 for keeping my promise and tell me not to tell Dad.
My kids will miss Uncle Pete's dum dum suckers and bubble gum and all the quarters we'd let you give them to play video games at the restaraunt!
We know you're singing to Grandaddy, Grandmother, Aunt Alice, Aunt Faye and the Angels now and we'll all see you again someday.
Rest well, although we may not have said it enough, you have always been and forever will be in our hearts.

TO ALL WHO HAD THE PLEASURE OF KNOWING PETE, YOU ARE TRULY BLESSED. FOR THOSE OF US WHO NOT ONLY KNEW HIM, BUT KNEW HIM AS A FRIEND, WE HAVE BEEN TRULY BLESSED BY GOD HIMSELF. PETE AND I PLAYED MUSIC TOGETHER IN THE "COUNTRY ROADS BAND" FOR SEVERAL YEARS, AND BECAME GOOD FRIENDS AND LOVED SINGING TOGETHER IN HARMONY. REST IN PEACE, PETE. YOU WERE AND STILL ARE A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE AND JEAN'S. TO THE FAMILY, MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU. WE WILL ALL MISS PETE, BUT WE REALIZE NO ONE CAN ERASE OUR MEMORIES OF HIM.
WITH DEEPEST CONDOLENCES,
NELSON & JEAN DODD

We have lost a great friend and musician. I grew up knowing Pete and his love for music. Pete was a very special person and he truly loved my little girl Anna, he picked at her and she knew he loved her ,she is almost 6 years old now and you could see Pete out somewhere and ask her who he was and she would say that's Pete. Pete will always be in our hearts and our memories and we will always love him for who he was. Words just cannot express or explain how deep the sorrow is for the loss of this dear and sweet friend.
