David "Baby Boy" Vaughn

Nashville - Age 62, January 14, 2018. He retired from Metro Fire Dept. after 38 years of service. His dedication to service is only surpassed by his love for his family. Preceded in death by parents, George & Betsye Vaughn. Survived by daughter, Mitzi (Tommicus) Joyce; son, Greg (Shannon) Beier; 14 grandchildren; the love of his life, Mona Coode; sister, Nancy Gaye (Randy) Starnes; and brother, Tommy Vaughn. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 18, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, HICKORY CHAPEL, 5852 Nolensville Road, by Rev. Rosemary Brown, Pastor of Jordonia United Methodist Church. Masonic Service will be conducted Thursday at 7:00 p.m. by Claiborne Lodge #289 F&AM. Visitation Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, Directors 615-331-1952 Still Family Owned.

On this date 2 yrs ago we lost you. I can't say its been easy, I still struggle that you are not here and a day doesn't go by that I don't think about you. I love you very much and miss you so much. Ty and Zy ask about you everyday and Jackson misses you also. I know you have looked after Mizaela during her time of need being born several weeks early, I know you helped protect her. She has the blondest hair and it reminds all of us of you when you were a baby. I just want you to know I Love You and today is hard. I first met David when my sister and I were school patrol mothers in the 80's.He was a kind and gentle man who always
treated us with the utmost respect. I haven't seen David in years but I will always remember him as a good man who loved his family and treated people nicely. He left his mark on this world. God bless his family. His friend for life.

Mitzi, I am so sorry to hear about David's passing. I knew your dad through my grandmother (Sonja), and he was always so sweet to me whenever I would come with her to the Eagles Club and Greenland's. My grandmother is unable to come to the funeral, but she wants you to know you're in her prayers.

I will miss him coming by the Union office and visiting me. We had some great talks and he always had something to say to make me laugh!
