Nashville - Age 90, January 15, 2018. Born January 31, 1927 in Nashville. Preceded in death by her parents, Marshall Owen and Marie Harris; husband, Donald E. Thompson; nephew, Rick Vestal; sister, Elizabeth Moore; and husband, John W. Horsley, Sr.
Survived by stepchildren, Diane (Jackson) Arnold, Kay McDonald, John Horsley Jr., step-grandchildren, Dale and David Horsley; cousin, Hale Harris; niece, Kaye Vestal Brown and nephew, Wayne Vestal.
She graduated from Isaac Litton High School in 1945, retired from the State of Tennessee Judicial Dept. in 1989 with 35 years of service. She was a member of Blackman United Methodist Church, Murfreesboro, TN.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Woodbine Funeral Home, HICKORY CHAPEL, 5852 Nolensville Road at 12 Noon with visitation from 10 a.m. - 12 noon with Reverend David Stockton officiating. Pallbearers Kenneth Browning, Gary Clark, Gregg Clark, Paul Decker, Loyd Locke, and Carl Self. Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 615-331-1952.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dell's passing. She was always one of my favorite people in the world. As one of our "Moms" in the neighborhood, I grew up knowing her as a kind, loving person, with a wonderful sense of humor. I'll miss her sweet smile but have wonderful memories of her. My sympathy to the family.
