Nancy Hoover Obituary
Hendersonville, TN
Nancy Elizabeth Perry Hoover of Hendersonville, TN passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014. She was 78.
Preceded in death by her parents, AD and Bessie Perry.
Survived by her husband, E.W. Hoover; son, Mark Hoover; sisters, Mary Grissom and Bonnie Marrs.
Mrs. Hoover was a school teacher in Summer and Davidson counties for thirty-six years, touching many, many lives during her teaching career.
Memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Hendersonville Church of Christ with Larry Graham officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Mrs. Hoover was the first and only teacher to give me a paddeling which was set up by Roy Resha and Doug Newman. She tore me up and then told me that know one should go thru 12 years of school without being paddeled at least once. Mrs. Hoover was an awesome teacher and loved by the class of '64.

Mrs. Hoover assigned us to read "The Brethren", a book on the Supreme Court. It made me think differently about politics. I remain in politics today due to Mrs. Hoover. I learned more in her class than any others in high school. May her family be comforted in knowing she was loved by so many.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had Mrs. Hoover for P.E. and history at Hendersonville High School (class of 1971.)She was one of my most memorable teachers. One of my favorites.

RIP Ms Dubby aka Mrs. Hoover. My thoughts and prayers to the family. I have many fond memories of Ms Dubby - I was in the graduating class her last year at Cumberland HS (1963)and haven't seen her for over 50 years. I even played her in our Senior skit. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Mrs Hoover celebrated many milestones in my life such as my baptism, wedding, and birth of my children. She was also my Economics teacher and I still use the lessons she taught in that class today. Her family and friends will miss her! God Bless!

Mrs. Hoover definitely touched my life. She recognized a love of history in me before I even saw it myself. I later became a history teacher, partly because of her influence and encouragement. She was a great lady, and the world is better because she has been in it.

Mrs. Hoover was a wonderful teacher with yhe special talent of personalizing the topic and keeping large groups of teenagers engaged. I still use the skills she taught me so many years ago. Prayers and blessings to her family.
