VanFrank Mills Obituary
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Barger officiating. Dr. Mill's son, Andrew will deliver his eulogy.
There will be no visitation with the family prior to services. After the services you are invited to the Bibb-White Bluff Center, 1054 Old Charlotte Rd., White Bluff, TN were friends and family will fellowship in a roaring wake, including a potluck supper. Fellowship will begin approximately at 5:00 p.m.
Memorials are suggested in honor of Dr. Mill's to a Dickson County charity of choice.
Dr. Van Frank Mills, age 57, died Saturday, January 9, 2016 in his home in Dickson, TN.
Dr. Mill's was born July 27, 1958 in Albuquerque, NM to Berkley Clark Beaver and Irma Jean Vandeveegaete Mills. He grew up in Arkansas, studied physics at the University of Arkansas, and graduated from St. George's Medical School in 1984. After completing his residency in Johnson City, TN, Dr. Mills moved to Dickson permanently in 1989 to practice family medicine and obstetrics. He was a member and deacon at First Presbyterian Church, Dickson
He married Sara Caroline Eldridge, who survives him, in 1983 in Stuttgart, AR. His two sons, Andrew Eldridge Mills and Ian Van Mills, also survive him.
Dr. Mills helped to bring nearly four thousand children into the world, mostly in Dickson County. He was an avid woodsman and caring friend.

Dr. Mills was a gentle, kind and great person. He cared about people and their health. He went above and beyond to personally solve a health issue of mine with a vein that needed to be removed in my left leg. I could say so many great things about how he has helped my entire family over the years. He was a great man with many accomplishments and he will be missed.

Dr Mills (Van) was first my friend and later my Doctor and my friend. He lit the bonfire at our wedding party. I never saw him without a smile and an infectious positive and happy attitude. I am told and I have no doubt he managed to maintain his happy demeanor until the very end. In my 58 years I've been privileged to meet many great and influential people. People of honor and dignity and importance, but I don't think I met anyone as great as Van Mills. There is no surprise he leave behind two sons and a wife, individually and equally great in their own rite. I am so sorry, God Speed, Rest in Pease

Van, you will be greatly missed by the Harvey family. We still cherish all the stories we have of the calm, stabilizing, friendly and humorous force you were during Fred's escapades while he was healing. You've were a blessing in our lives
