Darrell Hoad Obituary
He married his high school sweetheart, Carol Hunt, on March 14, 1970. They enjoyed 45 wonderful years together. He retired from Steuben County Dept. of Public Works in 2010 after 34 years of service. He was also the town of Cameron's dog warden for 28 years. Darrell was an avid hunter, hobby farmer, and loving family man. After 45 years, Darrell and Carol were inseparable. They enjoyed the small things in life, and as long as they were together, they were happy.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Hunt) Hoad of Cameron Mills; 3 daughters, Karen (Jason) Causer of Bath, Amy (Tim) Parmelee of Bath and Norma (Brandt) Rice of Cameron Mills; son, Darrell (Alicia) John Hoad II of Campbell; sisters, Susan (Karl) Hadley of Avoca and Gloria Moran of Bath; 5 brothers, Cloyse (Etta) Hoad of Prattsburg, Royce (Kathy) Hoad of Cameron, Greg (Sandy) Hoad of Bath, James (Tammy) Hoad of Cameron Mills and Jay (Lorraine) Hoad of Cameron Mills; sisters-in-law, Deborah Hoad of Cameron Mills and Janice Hoad of Cameron Mills; 16 grandchildren, Derick (Libby) Nadjadi, Brent (Sarah) Nadjadi, Brianica Smith, Joey Causer, Coby Causer, Dalton Parmelee, Jessica Parmelee, Jake Parmelee, Brionna Rice, Dakkota Rice, Dominic Rice, Joey Hoad, Daryl Hoad, Kara Hoad, Darrell John Hoad III and Allison Hoad; great-grandchildren, Kendal, Jax, Payton, Bentley, Siddalee and Adalaya.
Along with his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Barry, Allan and Rex Hoad; and his sister, Zoann Hoad Adams.
Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter-Flint Funeral Home, 10 Wall St. Addison, NY on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 7:00PM-9:00PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11:00AM with Rev. Morris Gridley Jr. officiating.
