Kerry Don Prichard

LAFAYETTE - Remembrance Services will be held on Friday February 5, 2016 at Cajun Field under the big oak at 11:00 AM in Lafayette for Kerry Don Prichard, 65, who died on Monday, February 1, 2016 at his residence in Lafayette.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Landry Prichard, of Lafayette; two daughters, Corrissa Niel, of Lihue, HI and Amanda Lovelace, of Colorado Springs, CO; sons, Shawn Prichard, of Norfolk, VA, Jeremy Kopmann of Rantoul IL and Ethan Kyle Prichard of Lafayette; sisters, Peggy Richard and her husband Ronald of Lafayette and Martha Ellison; four grandchildren; one niece Melisa Entrekin; one nephew Ronald Richard; one sister-in-law Cheryl Ann Landry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Howard Prichard and the former Elizabeth Ruth Pinnell; one son, Travis Prichard and a brother, Charles Prichard.

Kerry Don Prichard was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on April 25, 1950 and was a veteran of military service, proudly serving in the United States Air Force from April '71 through November '78. While in the military he received a Presidential Unit Citation, an Outstanding Unit Citation with oak leaf cluster, a Good Conduct Metal with two oak leaf clusters, and a National Defense Ribbon. Upon his separation from the military, he went on to become the Director of Building and Grounds at Bellevue College from '78 to '82. He worked at Audio Systems form '82 to '86. He then started work with ULL from '86 to '16, where he retired as Horticultural Superintendent of Athletic Grounds.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Prichard, Shawn Prichard, Gilbert Paris, Philander Sweet, Ian Ridge and Jeremy Kopmann.

Kerry was the brother of Peggy, my best friend at Armstrong High School. I remember his grin and how he teased his brothers and sister--Peggy, Charles, and Martha. To the family: I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolences.
