Billy Ernest Obituary

Billy Don Ernest Jr., affectionately known as "Lil Billy" to his family, was born to this life on December 01, 1975 and born to eternal life on Saturday, January 26, 2019. He was 43 years old. Everyone who knew him, knew Billy was a kind hearted, trusting soul who lived his life for the Lord, his family and LSU, in that order. Billy always did his best to find good in everyone he came across, and he lived his life not in fear, but in love and trust of his Lord and Savior, who was always with him. His love for the Lord was evident by not only the way he lived his life, but also by the way his children lived their lives. Although Billy was tragically taken way too soon and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his family, we take comfort in knowing that he is in heaven singing and rejoicing with our Heavenly Father, surrounded by loved ones who have passed before him. Billy is survived by his wife Kaycee Ernest; his children Hunter and Christopher Ernest; his stepdaughter whom he's raised since birth and loved as his own, Heaven Theriot; his mother and stepfather Evelyn & Steve Sing; his sister and her husband, Crystal & Wesley DeYoung; his brother and his wife, Jonathan & Suzanne Ernest; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He is also survived by the mother of his three older children, Rhonda Champagne. Billy was preceded in death by his father, who was also his very best friend, Billy Don Ernest Sr.; two of his children who were tragically taken the same day as he was, Summer and Tanner Ernest; his paternal grandparents Ralph and Donnie Lee Ernest; his maternal grandparents George Thompson and Vera Ousley and his younger brother and sister-in-law's baby, Baby Ernest. Billy will be at Abundant Life Church in Denham Springs, Saturday, February 9th, 2019, with the wake from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon and services immediately following at noon.

My sincere condolences to Billy's family and friends I' just realized who this is, I've know lil Billy for many years, all of these years to me, his first name was lil last name Billy. It didn't matter that I never asked what his last name was when we'd run into each other in a store or somewhere, he always had a big smile on his face and I can honestly say that I've never seen him in a bad mood, always a happy fellow at least every time I've bumped into him. Lil Billy, while here sure made the world a better place it's a shame that more people won't have the pleasure of knowing such a stand up guy.

I HAD TO GO AWAY

I had to go away.
I'm sorry you couldn't come with me.
But on earth is where you shall stay.
Please do not be sad.
Instead laugh and be glad.
I'm in a beautiful place, such a beautiful place.
I know you won't see me for a while.
But you will hear from me.
I will be the wind that will chill you on a hot summer day.
I will be the sun that will warm you when it's cold.
Listen to the birds sing, I will be saying, "I love you" in their song.
I know you can't touch me.
But you will feel me.
Because I will be inside of you giving you life on the days you feel like you can't go on anymore.
Please I beg of you, go on, and live your life as I lived mine.
Always remember we will be together again.
I will be patiently waiting for you on that day.
When you will join me in this beautiful place.
Until then may God bless you with his almighty grace.

I wish I can ease the pain of losing someone you love so much but all I can do in pray that God gives you comfort and peace in knowing that you're not alone. We are praying for yall and love yall so much. We will always have the great memories with Billy of Nippy's trailer park playing in the fields, (Aunt Evelyn forever defending her baby boy that did no wrong in her eyes even when he really did tear our camp up ❤) growing and spreading our wings in Prairieville and expanding our families in Denham Springs area. Our comfort comes from knowing that he truly loved the Lord and his family with all his heart. This is just a season we must go through and soon we will be reunited again in Heaven. Until then we promise never to forget and hold dear the memories and loved ones left behind. With love and prayers.

Lil Billy,
I would say I am sorry you are not here but that would be untrue. I am filled with joy that you are now in a place with no pain, no grief, no poverty, no unkindness. I know you are in the Lord's presence, next to your Daddy and sweet babies. And I know you couldn't be happier. I am sad, however, for the sense of loss and grief your loved ones are left to bear in your absence. I know you will look over them and beg the father to bring peace and comfort in this turbulent times. I also know God is as proud of you as we all are and is rejoicing at having you grace his pearly white gates. I am lucky that you graced my life. You are a remarkable, kind hearted, God loving man and I am a better person for having known you.

My dearest brother, niece and nephew,
My heart is shattered. I dont have words to describe the pain I feel. The only thing that gives me peace is knowing y'all didn't go alone and y'all met (daddy and your paw paw Billy) at the pearly gates. Boy, what a reunion that was! It's going to be hard looking at the empty chairs at holidays, but we all do know yall are happy and we have new Angel's. Save me a spot, for I will see y'all soon. Always in my heart! Love ALWAYS and a Day, your sister and your kids aunt , Cristy
