Eleanor Glynn Gibson

Eleanor Glynn Gibson, "GG", as she was known to loved ones, passed away on June 4, 2022 in Gautier, MS. She was born on August 22, 1934 in Bogalusa, LA, & raised in Baton Rouge, LA by the late Elmo & Susie Rogers. She was the mother of 4 children, Cindy Walker of New Smyrna Beach FL, Ray Walker (Kathy) of Baton Rouge, LA, Patty Smith (Norman) of Monroe, LA and Gary Walker (Tracy) of Gautier, MS. Her children have blessed her life with 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren! She is survived by a brother, Wayne Rogers & his 2 children Susan Abels & Ken Rogers. She is a widow to Lee Gibson & is survived by the father of her children, Charles Walker (Pat) in Ponchatoula, LA. She worked for the EBR School Board & Reynolds Aluminum, but always had time and energy to go camping, boating, swimming & cooking for her friends & family. At the age of 87, she was fun loving & full of life who enjoyed playing bingo, booray, scrabble & slot machines! She was the Vice-President for the Riverchase Resident's council & a member of their cooking club, often serving up some Cajun dish like shrimp etouffee! Celebrating Holidays & Birthdays was one of her favorite things to do, including the honor of being the Mardi Gras Queen! Her favorite movie star was Elizabeth Taylor and her favorite singer was Frank Sinatra singing "My Way". Watching the Wheel of Fortune, listening to music and telling jokes and stories was her pastime. She loved anything with a sailboat on it and her favorite flower was Daisies. Goodbyes are not forever; goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I'll miss you, until we meet again!
