Gary LaBorde Obituary

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:21. Gary Anthony LaBorde passed away June 27, 2022. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was born on July 13, 1948, in Cottonport, Louisiana to John and Gloria LaBorde. Gary spent most of his childhood in Baton Rouge, graduating from Baton Rouge High School. He served his country in the United States Army Reserves from 1968 - 1975 and was employed with Kansas City Southern Railroad for 35 years. Gary was a member of Parkview Baptist Church for 43 years where he faithfully served as deacon for 38 of those. Gary devoted his life to his God, his wife, his children, his church, and being the greatest "Pops" ever to his 4 grandchildren. He loved bragging to anyone who would listen that his oldest born shared his birthday. Gary will be remembered for his cooking and his never ending blessings of the food before a meal. He and his son had such a special bond, as they both shared the same passion for cooking. Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory; the love of his life of 52 years, D'Anice "Dee" Weeks LaBorde, children Tiffani Tircuit (Derek), Jennifer Schott (Brent), of Cumming, Georgia, and Brandon LaBorde, grandchildren Ryan, Logan, Lauren, and Jack Schott, of Cumming, Georgia, siblings John LaBorde, Jr. of Auburn, Alabama, Vince LaBorde (Carolina), Dale P. LaBorde (Ellie) of Georgetown, Texas, Ralph LaBorde (Gina) of Douglas, Georgia, Bert Haviland (Mike), and Jeanne LaBorde, in addition to numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by parents John and Gloria LaBorde, brother Larry LaBorde, brother-in-law Don LaBorde, and father and mother-in-law James Weeks and Jacqueline Dowden Kennedy. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Pinnacle Home Health and The Crossing at Clarity Hospice. We will be eternally grateful for their compassion. Visitation will be held on July 2, 2022, from 10:00 - 11:00 am, with a service to follow, at Parkview Baptist Church, 11795 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter.
