I am just learning of Ida's passing. I knew of her condition, but no details. We were not terribly close, but chose to "check in" with each other by phone over the years. I will really miss our conversations- such a beautiful person inside and out.
With heartfelt condolences,

Ida and I met in 1968 and were close friends until she passed away. We were roommates for a while in Chicago, IL. I considered her one of my sisters. I was devastated to hear the news of her death because I had talked to her the day of her passing. Arlando and Ida´s siblings, please accept my condolences. A bright light went out in my heart when I received the news. Rest in peace, my dearest friend, you are always in my memory.

Ida and I both started our library careers at the same time. When I retired last year, she called me on my last day of work to congratulate me. She always called me Mary B and I missed seeing her weekly since I left. I guess one could say we had a bit of a special connection. RIP my friend..

Loved Ida! Worked with her for years at the library. After she retired, when we´d meet up, we´d talk up a storm. I will certainly miss her.
