Joseph Broussard Obituary

A native of Baton Rouge and resident of Prairieville, The Legendary Joe Broussard passed away August 9, 2014 at the age of 69. Verifiable claims by Joe B include that he was a site manager at Triad Electric and that he was a retired Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. The rest of his life stories are a patchwork of unbelievable tall tales and actual events that received Joe's special creative enhancements, which tested the limits of the flexibility of truth and were often bookended by the phrases "True Story!" and "You know I ain't right." Joe maintained many hobbies in his life, which included his love for LSU baseball and the Saints, but his favorite activities were always those that required a boat or a horse for transportation. A Husband, Father, Grandfather, Surrogate Father, Rock Crawler, Fisherman, Cowboy, Life of the Party, and Keeper of the Pearls of Wisdom, his presence will be forever missed by anyone who ever met him. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Connie Sheets Broussard, sons and daughters-in-law, Justin and Julie Broussard of Metairie, Shannon and Ginger Broussard of Prairieville; grandchildren, Quentin, Gabriel, and James Broussard; brother, Robert Broussard of South Carolina; dogs, George Strait and Lady Gaga; and horse, Scratch. Preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Norbert Broussard. There will be a memorial gathering at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on August 13, 2014. Visitation from 5-9:00PM with services beginning at 7:00PM. Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales is in Charge of Arrangements.
