Mae Gathright Obituary

Mae B. Gathright died at 3 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Flannery Oaks Guest House in Baton Rouge. She was 92 and a native of Columbia. She was a retired secretary with Exxon USA. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home chapel, Denham Springs, on Saturday, March 27, from 7:30 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Don Tuttleton and the Rev. Willis Easley. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jo Diane and Paul Tyler; two grandchildren, Bradly Tyler and Shelly Olivares and husband Robert; and special friend, Debbie Johnson. Preceded in death by her husband, William Alton "Bully" Gathright; and parents, Joseph A. and Mary Langlois Bowen. Pallbearers will be Ray Clayton, Dale Nettles, Brian Raef, David Branton, Ken Rushing and Jim Tripp. She was a member of Christ's Community Church in Denham Springs. Memorial donations may be made to Christ's Community Church Building Fund, 8139 Florida Blvd., Denham Springs, LA 70726. Special thanks to Life Source Hospice and Flannery Oaks Guest House.

Diane, I'm sorry to learn of Aunt Mae's death, but am glad to know that she lived a long, good life. I have such fond memories of her and Uncle Bully together. I send condolences on behalf of our entire family to you and yours.
