Polly Trahan Stephens

Polly Trahan Stephens 87, a native and resident of Fordoche, LA. She was the first nurse at Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. She was a nurse her whole life until she was 80 years old. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, grandmother and friend to all. She always had time for everyone. Visitation will be on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Fordoche Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until funeral services in the church at 12:00 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Womack. Burial to follow at Cottonwood Cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Sagona Lindley (Joseph), Konah Stephens and Reka Stephens; eleven grandchildren, Gabriel Dunham (Lisa), Joie D Parent (Keith), Heather Allen, Rev. Blaine Allen, Maria Lumpkin, Stevie Lumpkin, Joshua Juarez, Jennifer Juarez Herricks (Ben), Jonathan Stephens, Victoria Stephens and Katherine Stephens, Monica Kimble, Joey Lindley (Vera); eight great grandchildren, Aaron and Andrew Dunham, Morgan Latham, Hailey Juarez, Claire and Ella Herricks, DJ Cox, Jr., Austin and Audrey Base, Reagan and Trey Lindley, Aaron and Ashley KImble. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. H.A. Stephens, one son, Paul Stephens and her parents, Paul and Edna Orillion Trahan. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Dunham, Aaron Dunham, Andrew Dunham, Joshua Juarez, Rev. Blaine Allen and Jonathan Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Orillion and Ronnie Sagona.
