Robert Milton Sharkey Sr.

1942 - 2021

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. Robert Milton 'Bobby' Sharkey, Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 27, 2021. He will be greatly missed by his wife Vicki Napoli Sharkey and their children Robert Milton Sharkey, Jr. (Tracy); Michael Wayne Sharkey (Meg); and Kelley Sharkey McCarthy (Trent). Bobby was born on August 16, 1942 and graduated from Woodland High School in 1960. With the exception of a few years working on the Alaska pipeline, Bobby was a life-long resident of Amite-Arcola, Louisiana. He was a family man who loved his wife and children; and a hard-working and successful dairy farmer, who also served for many years as a Director on the Louisiana Dairy Industry Promotion Board. Over the years, Bobby also served in various leadership roles with Kedron Baptist Church. In addition to his wife and children, Bobby is survived by his sister Julee Kay Frazier Harper (Doug) and brother Harrell Young Sharkey, Sr. (Susie). Paw Paw's grandchildren are Steven Allen Sharkey, Darren Michael Sharkey (Nevena), Mallory Alayna Sharkey Gharbi (Jax), Mandy Ellen Sharkey, Jacob Michael Sharkey, Madisyn Paige McCarthy, Grace Elizabeth Pons, Robert Trentham McCarthy and Jesse Michael Sharkey. Bobby was blessed to live long enough to meet his great-grandson Robert Jaxson Gharbi. Bobby is predeceased by his parents Felix and Daisy Sharkey; his father and mother-in-law Charles and Grace Napoli; his sister Wanzie Fay Williams, and James L. Williams; his brother Earl Ray Sharkey, and Betty Nowell Sharkey. Visitation, funeral service and burial will take place at Kedron Baptist Church, 71 LA 1047, Amite, Louisiana on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Visitation will be from 10 am until noon, followed by the funeral service and burial, to be conducted by Kedron Baptist Church Minister Byron Humphrey. Bobby's pallbearers are Harrell Young Sharkey, Sr., Robert Milton Sharkey, Jr., Michael Wayne Sharkey, Edward Trentham McCarthy, Darren Michael Sharkey, Steven Allen Sharkey, Jacob Michael Sharkey, Robert Trentham McCarthy, Jesse Michael Sharkey and John Gharbi. Honorary pallbearers are Harrell Sharkey, Jr., Doug Harper, Chase Sharkey, Ray Sharkey, Rex Sharkey, Stan Williams, Lathan Williams, Gary Williams, John Smith and Dale Denicola.
