Ruby Forbes

Ruby Forbes, a resident of Walker, born January 8 at the age of 92 crossed over the river Jordan peacefully in her sleep on October 16, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Isom and Mattie Graham. Husband Monroe E Forbes. Son, Perry W. Forbes and grandson Jason W. Forbes. Sister Ruth Rodrigue and brothers Eric, Jimmy, Tommy Joe and Earl Graham. Survived by family Carl and Rene Forbes, Brenda Forbes and Kevin and Donna Forbes, followed by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She retired from the Livingston Parish Library after 50 years of service. She also loved working with the Livingston Schools as a foster grandparent. She loved to travel and make endless trips to her favorite place, The smoky mountains. She loved to crochet and quilting. She was a member of Mangum Chapel United Methodist Church. Services will be held Wednesday October 19, 2022 at Mangum Chapel United Methodist Church from 10:00 AM until funeral service at 1:00 PM and burial to follow in Sibley Cemetery. Pall bearers will be her grandsons: Brian, Chris, Joel, Corey, Jeremy and Derek Forbes. We would also like to thank the staff of Golden Age for their care and kindness during her residency.
