Denise, Rusty, Mr. Buddy,
I read about Uncle Sam and I just want to give you my condolences and tell you that you and your family are in my thoughts. Having experienced a loss fairly recently myself (my older sister on 1/1/2008), I know that you are going through a very tough time right now, to say the least. There's a grand and glorifying lesson about life and unity in the human experience that arises from such a loss. We are forced to open our eyes to the true value of love and compassion that we experience in our daily lives, and we learn how the human spirit endures through the lives and memories of those we connect with. I guess what I'm trying to say is, in simpler terms, my heart goes out to you. I pray that closure, compassion, and peace fall upon you and your family. Uncle Sam was always an inspiration to me in my days at Lindsey's.

Nila, Mike, Denise and Gina,
Donald and I just heard of Sam's passing this morning during church. I immediately started crying which quickly turned to laughter as we remembered all of the great times we shared as neighbors. From playing games at your kitchen table, the week of the hurricane and no power, to the secret redecorating of your home. We will miss Sam greatly. You and your families are in our prayers.

I was with great sadness for us all but great joy for Uncle Sam that I learned of his passing. I worked with Sam and his radio ministry many years ago when I lived in B.R. and N.O. I have a picture in my bookcase of him and I together years ago when I was visiting and I am thinking how much I will miss him even just knowing he is no longer with us. My outstanding memories are taking car rides with him because I never knew where I would end up! I met more wonderful people through Sam!
