Steven Hartley Obituary

Steven Wayne "White Bean" Hartley passed tragically in the early morning hours on July 8, 2022. A senseless crime that has left his family's hearts shattered, as they just laid his big brother to rest only a day prior. White Bean was a CDL driver, hauling for several companies locally. He was born a blue eyed, cotton top on August 20, 1958 in Baton Rouge, LA. White Bean lived by his own morals & family meant everything to him. For the most part he was a lifelong resident of Port Allen. In 2014 he moved to California for two years with his son Jason and daughter in law Esmeralda. You could see him riding bikes in sunny California with his granddaughter Mimi. That was some of the best years of his life, bonding with his grandchildren & his ride or die, Gloria "Ama". The night before his death White Bean told Esmeralda he was ready to go back to Cali for good. Unfortunately he was not able to make the trip but we are assured he has been reunited with his family at the gates of heaven. White Bean leaves behind his son, USMC ret. SSgt Jason Thurmond and wife Esmeralda; daughter, Nicole Camp; sister, Janet Lynn Hartley Landry and husband Aaron; nephews, James Stanton Hartley Jr, Adam Joseph Hartley, Chad Aaron Landry wife Meagan; nieces, Kaci Louise Landry, Megan Jones Hartley; grandchildren, Keir, Mafia, Michael, Esabel, LJ, Jason Jr., and Esmeralda "Mimi"; great grandchild Keir II , great-nieces, Brooklyn Kauffman, Kailey Wolf, Lucille Hartly, Airyana Jade Hebert, Gracie-Jean Rydeen and Adrien-Jo Hartley; great-nephews, Michael Kauffman Jr, Blaize Daigle, & Carter Hartley; former spouse, Rita Thurmond. White Bean is preceded in death by his parents, Dannie Roger Sr. & Imogene Southall Hartley; brothers, Dannie "Slim" Roger Hartley Jr and James "Big Bean" Stanton Hartley; niece, Marlena David Kauffman. Special thanks to his very close friend, Edward "Ed" Worley. The Family would like to thank Kaci Landry for her care and compassion. A visitation will be at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen on Friday, July 15th, 5 p.m. until memorial service at 6:30, conducted by Rev. Ricky Sinclair. The family is requesting you come casual in your purple and gold LSU attire or gold and black Saints attire. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pastor Ricky Sinclair's All The Way House via Pay Pal Miracle Place Church or The American Legion Hall Post 160 in Port Allen. Red, I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of both your brothers recently. I lost my brother Mike recently also. I'm sure they are all up there hunting and fishing and bragging on who killed the biggest, and caught the most. My condolences to you and your family on the loss of Stan and Steve (whitebean)
