Hilda Neal Withers

Hilda Neal Withers, age 83, of Augusta, GA passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

Hilda was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Augusta, GA. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hilda served as Food Service Director of the Columbia County School System and retired after many years. Hilda was born to the late William and Thelma Hammond of Lincolnton, GA on August 29, 1940.

She is survived by her three children: Elizabeth Kathryn Williams (Kathy and Layton), John William Thompson (John and Lashelle) , Fred Lindsey Neal II(Freddie and Jennifer); grandchildren: Lindsey Kathryn Feeley (Lindsey and Sean), Bryce Acquinn Thompson (Bryce and Sarah), Whitley Jordan Bechtel (Whitley and Ben), Logan Elizabeth Williams, Fred Lindsey Neal III "Trace", and Evie Rose Neal; great grandchildren: Acquinn "Quinn" James Thompson, Anna Kathryn Feeley, Grady John Thompson, Piper Lynn Bechtel, Georgia Leigh Bechtel, and Ella Grace Feeley; and sister: Connie Hammond Arthur.

Funeral Services will be held at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Bernard S. Mason and Pastor Ben Bechtel officiating. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Sean Feeley, Bryce Thompson, Fred Neal III, Ben Bechtel, Buddy Jackson, and Robert Williams.

The family would like to thank Dr. Danny Newman and staff, along with the staff of Heartland Hospice in taking care of their mother during this difficult time.
