Michael O'Farrell Obituary
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2025 in The Chapel at Warren Baptist Church, 3203 Washington Road.
He was born on October 21, 1949, in Columbus, OH, to the late Tom and Beatrice O'Farrell. Tim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Vickie O'Farrell of 53 years, his son Michael O'Farrell, and grandsons Patrick, Kristopher, and Dylan, all residing in the greater Atlanta area. He is also survived by his brother Terry O'Farrell of Atascadero, CA, and many nieces and nephews residing in Ohio, Minnesota, Georgia, and California. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father Tom and Beatrice O'Farrell, sisters Barbara, Beatrice Ann, Mary Beverly, Bernadette Louise, and brother Thomas Edward.
Tim attended Saint Emydius Catholic School in Lynwood, CA, for his primary education and later graduated from Pius X Catholic School in Downey, CA. He furthered his education at Compton Junior College, Compton, Ca. and Dekalb College, Clarkston, Ga. In 1972 Tim began his career at Griffin Outboard Marine as a customer service representative. In 1975 he transferred to their information technology department. Tim continued to work in the information technology industry for the next 46 years, holding positions at Prucare, Science Dynamics, XL Data Comp, Sonoco, Alltel, E3 Corporation, and Conagra, before retiring from Humana Insurance in October 2021. Outside of his professional life, Tim was an avid sports enthusiast. He played baseball, football, and golf in his early years and enjoyed watching various sports. He also had a deep appreciation for movies. Timothy "Tim" O'Farrell will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May his memory be cherished forever.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southeast Hospice Foundation, 3736 Executive Center Drive, Martinez, Ga., 30907 or to Hope Wellness Center, 3202 Washington Road, Augusta, Ga., 30907.
