Charles Carlyle Obituary

Charles Carlyle Jr.

Charles H. Carlyle Jr., 68, of Brunswick, peacefully passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, at his home after an extended illness, surrounded by family members.

Chuck was born July 21, 1956, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Charles H. Carlyle Sr. and Carolyn J. Carlyle. He grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida, and was a graduate of John I. Leonard High School in Greenacres, Florida. Chuck moved to Brantley in 2004, and in 2013 moved to the Golden Isles. Chuck had been employed with FLETC. He enjoyed fishing, boating, riding motorcycles and watching the outdoor wildlife. His heart was big, his smile was contagious and he never met a stranger. He was a devoted husband, dad and grandfather.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dossianna "Gail" Carlyle; daughters, Diana Reeder of Brunswick and Trisha Carlyle (Deshler McDonald) of West Palm Beach; sister, Connie Dewall (Richard) of Waycross; one niece, Nicole Smith; one nephew, Ricky Dewall Jr.; and five grandchildren; Colby Patterson, Ethan Reeder, Ryan Reeder, Sebastian McDonald and Madison McDonald. He is preceded in death by both of his parents.

A memorial service for Chuck will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2025, at Chapman Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Charity Martin officiating.

Chapman Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
