Our beautiful mother, Agnes Theresa Olles Gunther, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 23, 2023. She was born Aug. 27, 1939, in Bigelow, Arkansas. She was the youngest daughter born to the late Rosa Siefker Olles and the late Paul H. Olles of Bigelow, Arkansas.
Agnes attended elementary school at St. Boniface, high s chool at Sacred Heart in Morrilton and graduated at the top of her class from Bigelow High School. Agnes was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Dixie. She served her church and community in many ways, including being parish religious coordinator, parish religious education teacher, a member of the church choir, altar society and parish council. She was also an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society, March of Dimes and American Heart Association. Additionally, she served in the Arkansas Home Extension Club, Arkansas 4-H Council and was a PTO officer and member for many years. Her greatest love, other than family, was being the owner and operator of Mrs. Aggie's Home Childcare for over 20 years. She loved and cherished all of the "littles" she cared for throughout the years.
Agnes was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, grandma and great grandma. She treasured her family and instilled in them strong values, Christian faith, compassion and forgiveness. She loved people, socializing, and sharing numerous stories and wisdom about life. She was a master cook in the kitchen. She believed in overcooking just about everything, but if questioned, she would say "it's fine, just a little crispy." A city girl at heart, she loved the years she lived in Little Rock and spoke of those memories often, she dedicated her life to raising her children on the family farm. Her unfailing love, encouragement, and sacrifice was always evident by those who knew her. She was our piece of heaven, our stronghold, and our prayer warrior. Nothing can compare to her "Mother's Endless Love."
A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Gentiva Hospice. A huge debt of gratitude also goes out to our very special caregiver Melissa Hight, who has loved and cared for Momma just like family.
She is survived by six children: Theresa Gunther Hartman (Mark), Susie Gunther Freyaldenhoven (Todd), Conrad J. Gunther Jr. (Betty), Tommy A. Gunther (Michelle), Don L. Gunther, Nancy Gunther Nosari; 14 grandchildren: Lance Hartman (Payton), Matt Freyaldenhoven (Gretchen), Brandon Freyaldenhoven (Katie), Spencer Freyaldenhoven, Rose Gunther, Grace Gunther, John Gunther, Clara Gunther, Chris Gunther (Erica), Cody Gunther (Catherine), Kirt Gunther (Jessica), Eden Barnhart (Justin), Lyndon Carden (Natalie), Ren Nosari; 14 great grandchildren, with great-grand number 15 due in August; as well as a host of relatives, friends, nieces, and nephews who all loved her dearly.
