David Balestrieri
David Balestrieri returned to the Lord on Sunday, May 18, 2014. He was born Nov. 6, 1951 and raised in Salinas, and was a long time resident of the Monterey Peninsula and Santa Maria.
He graduated from Palma High School, attended Hartnell College, and owned his own produce business on the Peninsula before moving to Santa Maria, where he raised two adoring sons, Anthony and Thomas. He is also survived by three sisters, Laura, Francine, and Christine, and two brothers, Richard and Kenneth.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank; his mother, Norma, and his sister, Jeanette. He has a number of nieces and nephews, who were graced with his unique sense of humor.
David was one of the good guys, and his courage and endurance were an inspiration to all who knew him. He had a kind and compassionate heart and a loving soul. He treasured time with family and friends, which blessed him with the most meaningful and happiest occasions. David will be deeply missed and proudly remembered.
A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, Pacific Grove; with Interment following at San Carlos Cemetery.
