Richard E. Arquette

SALINAS

Richard Edward Arquette, 71, resident of Montery County since 1965, passed away on December 26, 2012 in Salinas. He was born on May 11, 1941 in Hopkintn, New York.

Richard proudly served in the U.S. Army for over 5 1/2 years, where he received the Good Conduct Medal.

He enjoyed traveling to Arkansas, Idaho and New York to visit family, and especially loved attending family gatherings. He also had a passion for driving race cars in the Watsonville, San Jose area.

Richard and his long-time partner, Steve Aguirre of

"A & A Welding", worked on ranches throughout the Salinas Valley spanning out to the San Jose area as well as Paso Robles for over 35 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Junie Lee Arquette of Salinas; sons, James R. (Julie) Ivy, Richard M. (Mel) Ivy, Donald A. (Laura) Ivy all of AK and Lawrence D. Arquette of CA; daughters, Cindy Lee Arquette of CA and Darlene Arquette of ID; sisters, Joan (George) Springman and Cindy Constable both of NY; along with 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his two sisters, Lois Chapman and Sue Banks.

A Graveside Inurnment with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 1pm at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery 18200 Damian Way Salinas, CA 93907.

Dick was a good man, a hard worker and a good friend. No matter what was going on in his life, he was always there to do a good deed or favor for a friend. We will miss him.
