Richard Machado Obituary
Formerly of Spreckels - Richard Machado passed away December 12, 2017, at the age of 76.
The son of Frank Machado and Dolores Slinger, Richard grew up in Salinas and Chualar.
As a trained and instinctive mechanic, he was active in the race circuit as a young man and later opened Machado's Foreign Car Repair in Salinas. Considered an automotive genius, Richard would even fabricate parts when necessary. He was also known to build and renovate cars with distinct and often unique features.
An avid fisherman, Richard would readily head to the Ventana Wilderness or the Sierras in pursuit of a good day fishing.
Richard is survived by two children, Tracie Wilkensen and Richard Blair Machado; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Claire Franklin, and two nephews.
No services are planned at this time. At his request, Richard's ashes will be scattered from a location down the coast.

Richard has long been & will continue to be one of my favorite crazies in this world. I loved seeing him (sooo early) in the morning, fly fishing in the middle of the street, hollering at me, Top of the mornin' to ya! If there's anything after this life as we know it, I hope he's cared for & free there.
