Gerald Wallace Obituary

Gerald R. "Jerry" Wallace, Jr., 69, of DuBois, PA passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Christ the King Manor surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.

Born on August 31, 1955, in DuBois, PA, he was the son of Gerald R. Wallace, Sr., who survives and lives in DuBois and Helena M. (Caruso) Wallace. His mother preceded him in death.

He was a 1973 graduate of the DuBois Area High School.

Jerry was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Vietnam War on the USS Vreeland.

Jerry was a plumber by trade. He worked for many years alongside his father, and also for himself.

Jerry's hobbies included golf, golf, and more golf. He enjoyed many sports, especially baseball, football, and NASCAR. He was a true car enthusiast. Jerry's pride and joy was "Gertie," a 1966 G.T.O. which he, by himself, did a complete restoration. He enjoyed Fridays at camp with the "boys," hunting and snowmobiling. If you ever had an opportunity to eat one of Jerry's "kitchen creations," you know what an amazing cook he was. His friends will emphatically tell you that there was no truer friend, a man you could trust completely and have the best laugh with due to his quick wit and his unique sense of humor. Many of his friends considered him a "brother" because of the close, personal bond they shared.

Along with his father, he is survived by his two sisters, Angela Wallace of Fountain Hills, AZ and Brenda Wallace of DuBois, PA.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 10 a.m. from Holy Spirit Parish at St. Catherine of Siena, with Father John Malthaner as celebrant.

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church.

Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.

Jerry loved his family, friends and life. He lived it to the fullest. Although flowers and memorials are appreciated, in honor of Jerry, the family asks that you extend a kind gesture to someone, get together with your friends more often and live life to the fullest as Jerry did.

Remember…. "The only scars in Heaven are on the hands that hold him now."
