Samuel Joseph Obituary

Samuel Clemons Joseph, 83, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at DuBois Nursing Home.

He was born in Punxsutawney on May 26, 1941, a son of the late John Joseph and Beatrice (Williams) Joseph.

Sam spent over thirty years working for Speer Carbon, where he dedicated himself to the hard, honest work that defined much of his life.

He was a quirky, boisterous character with a kind heart, who always put in a good word and a helping hand for anyone in need.

He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp, Walston Club and the Eagles.

Sam is survived by two children, Ruthie R. (Adam) Popson and Michael John Joseph, both of DuBois; six grandchildren, Adam (Makenzie) Popson, Johnna Kunselman, Tyler Joseph, Taylor Joseph, Michael John Joseph, Jr. and Izzabellah Joseph; and many great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, William Joseph, and his companion Nancy.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
