In loving memory of Elizabeth Joan Vanderpool who died peacefully at home surrounded by adoring family on Tuesday evening, Aug. 17, 2021. Elizabeth (Liz) was the daughter of Josie and Clyde Lawson and she was one of 13 siblings.
Elizabeth was a life-long resident of New Castle, Indiana. Her career with the State of Indiana spanned greater than 32 years before retirement.
Elizabeth leaves behind the grandson she cherished, Ronnie Matthew Williams; a daughter, who respected and admired her, Patricia JoAnn Vanderpool; her son-in-law, Ronald D. Williams; her sisters, Judy Lawson and Lucy Lawson; her brothers, James (JR) Lawson, Rick Lawson, and Stephen Lawson.
Elizabeth was married to and widowed by the late William (Bill) Vanderpool. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her son, William (Bill) Vanderpool Jr., three sisters, Helen Hicks, Dorothy Guinn, Sherry Lawson; four brothers, Roy Lawson, Sam Lawson, Paul Lawson, and Harold Lawson. She will be lovingly missed, thought of often and fondly, the source of many smiles and tears, and eternally respected.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 21, at Macer-Hall-Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad St., New Castle, Indiana. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m., until service time at the funeral home.
