Troy Dean Obituary

Troy Dean

Born: August 2, 1944 | Died: July 15, 2025

Troy Dean Dunnam, devoted husband, proud father, and brave war veteran, passed away peacefully at home on July 15, 2025. He was 80 years old. Born in Duncan, Oklahoma, Troy answered the call to serve his country during the Vietnam War, and following his service, found a lifelong career as a radar technician with the Federal Aviation Administration. Known for his sense of humor, Troy was a man of deep faith who loved gardening, woodworking, and taking care of his family. His greatest devotion was to his wife of 56 years, Dollie. He taught those around him the value of hard work, humility, and loyalty. His quiet strength made a lasting impact on all who knew him. Troy is preceded in death by his parents, A. G. and Nancy Dunnam. He is survived by his wife; Dollie Ruble Dunnam, daughters; Judith Dunnam Witt (Ward) and Mary Elizabeth Spica (Malcolm), sister; Ruth Lawson (Buddy), nieces; Sharon Falco (Rick), Christine Winemiller (Josh), and beloved grandchildren, nephews, and nieces; Paolo, Ryan, Leah, and Lacy. Family and friends will gather for interment at 2pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, where Troy will be laid to rest with the military honors he earned and deserved. Condolences may be shared through Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 865-983-1000, www.SmithFuneralandCremation.com. In lieu of flowers, the family request a donation to the Veteran's organization of their choice.
