Andrew Foley Obituary

North Franklin - It is with great sadness that the family of Andrew Edward Foley announces that he passed away peacefully April 2, 2022, just shy of his 33rd birthday, after a short illness. Andrew is the beloved son of Georgene Foley-Didato and Michael Didato of Waterford, who passed him into the loving arms of his late father Peter Foley. He is also survived by his sister Aileen Foley of Waterford. He will be greatly missed by his many special friends, housemates and caring staff at his home in North Franklin.

Andrew worked for Sharp Training for many years and enjoyed a variety of different jobs. His family is grateful for the opportunities he had and for the coaching they provided. Andrew was an avid sports fan and followed every Boston team with great passion. He attended many Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots and Bruins games. He was a proud participant of Special Olympics and displayed his many medals in softball, soccer, basketball and sailing. He loved boating on the Niantic River and expertly learned to drive and dock his dad's boat. He was loved and will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of his life will be held at a future date to be announced. Contributions in his name can be made to Special Olympics Groton, Att: Eileen Cicchese, 29 Spicer Avenue, Noank, CT 06370.

There are no words to express the sadness that it's felt in my heart. Andrew is and was an exceptional and incredible human being. I will miss all of our outings, lunches and friendship. In fact, Susan Rickards and myself went to Panda Buffet for lunch on Andrew's birthday to celebrate his life. One of his favorite places to eat. I will never forget all of our fun and goofy times. My condolences, prayers and love go out to Georgene, Mike and Eileen. A truly great man has been lost.
