Carl Anderson Obituary

Stonington - Carl G. Anderson Jr., age 85, passed away peacefully Sept. 26, 2024, at Martin Memorial Hospital, Stuart, Fla. He was born in Hartford, the son of the late Carl "Gunnar" and Marie Anderson.

He lived in Indiantown, Fla., for three years, coming from Stonington, and Homestead, Fla. He was raised in Old Lyme, and went to boarding school at New Hampton School in New Hampshire.

He leaves behind many family members: sons, Carl Anderson III (Sara) and Philip G. Anderson (Elizabeth); and daughter Jennifer Anderson-Best (Thomas); grandchildren: Megan Wiley (Kyle), Emily Blanchard, Victoria Anderson, Alex Anderson, Kathryn Blanchard and Philip J. Anderson; great-grandchildren, Robert and Henry Antidormi, and Lincoln and Morgan Wiley. He was predeceased by his wife Polly; and his brothers, Alex and Don Anderson.

He was a salesman for years. Many may know him from his motorcycle days of Thomaston Honda and AAMRR racing or his Mac Tool Days. He loved camping with his wife and made many cross country trips. He enjoyed watching basketball, football, golf and NASCAR. He picked up golf in his retired years and loved playing two to three times a week.

A Celebration of Life will happen in the summer 2025 in Lord's Point, to be determined. In honor of Carl, donations can be made to Seymour Pink @seymourpink.com.

Whenever I see a golf game on TV it always reminds me that Carl would say T-Off at 7:30 am with this big smile.
Also he coached the UConn ladies basketball team of course from his blue recliner but you could hear him outside when he would get frustrated, because he thought their coach didn't know what he was doing.
