Born in Westerly, on Aug. 3, 1918, he was the son of the late Albert and Catherine (MacGregor) Glazier.
Mr. Glazier was the assistant treasurer and comptroller at the Bradford Dyeing Association for over 49 years before his retirement. David was a graduate of Westerly High School and attended Brown University. Mr. Glazier was a member of the Groton Bible Chapel and the church treasurer for over 20 years. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and past treasurer and a member of Seniors Helping Others.
David and his wife, Betty, traveled extensively throughout Europe and especially enjoyed the countries of Italy, Israel, and Egypt.
He will be sadly missed by his two children, Alycia Shafovaloff of Ashaway, and Dr. Stephen D. Glazier and his wife, Rosemary, of Kearney, Nebr. He also leaves his three grandchildren, David Shafovaloff and his wife, Amy, of Griswold, Jason Shafovaloff and his wife, Kerri, of Ashaway, and Catherine Glazier of Omaha, Nebr.; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Albert and Robert Glazier and his sister, Catherine McKenna.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, in the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, in the Noank Baptist Church, 18 Cathedral Heights, Noank CT.

Dear Alicia: So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was a gentle person and I always found him to be caring and compassionate. I am out of State until next week and will not be able to attend the memorial service. May he rest in peace.

I worked at BDA from 1956 to 1960 for Dave and will always remember him as a gentleman. My sympathy to the family.
