Don was born in Attleboro, Mass., on Aug. 24, 1928, the son of Elliot and Vivian Crawford. Raised in New London and New Haven, he had been a resident of Stonington since 1944.
He was employed for many years as a commercial fisherman out of Stonington Harbor. He retired in 1994. He was a member of the So. N.E. Fishermen & Lobstermen's Assoc., Westerly Elks, and Westerly Yacht Club.
Survivors include a son, Donald M. Crawford, of Pawcatuck, and a daughter, Brenda A. Crawford, of Ledyard.
Don's family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. Services and burial will be private.
