Waterford - Donald Robert Sisson, 73, of West Strand Road, died Aug. 2, 2025, in Bayview Health Care after an extensive period of hospitalization and residence in a skilled nursing facility. He was born in New London, July 25, 1952.

Donald lived in Waterford on West Strand Road until the early 1990s when he moved to New London. After his retirement, he lived in senior housing in East Lyme until he became paralyzed from the waist down in June 2024.

Donald was a lifetime member of Goshen Fire Department. He was well known in the Shore Road area as a friendly person who was always willing to help you as needed. He was never married.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Emily Sisson; his brothers, David and Gary Sisson; and his sister Susanne Sisson Whitesides. Donald is survived by his sister-in-law Jean Sisson; and a brother-in-law, Walter Whitesides; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
