I was very fortunate to have 38 memorable, enjoyable years with my grandpa, and I will treasure them always. I chuckle every time I witness a "Wood" characteristic in my children as well as myself! It will continue to remind me of what a proud, strong, and intelligent man my grandfather was. I will think of him always and know that he is watching me and smiling as to what I have become and will continue to be. So, grandpa.....enjoy your scotch, classical music, dancing with grandma, peanuts and popcorn and you can snore all you want! You have made a hole in one grandpa...and I love you!

Frank was a good story teller, and a good listener. His light hearted stories were a highlight of family gatherings. And what a laugh he had!!

I always enjoyed hearing Uncle Frank talk about his days in the Navy. Submarines have always been a fascination of mine. I recall once while on a family visit to Mobile, AL Uncle Frank and I went for a walk near the Hotel we were staying in. A short distance away we came upon a building that I believe was either a museum or a library and outside was a large unusual looking object. As we approached Uncle Frank recognized it as a full scale mock-up of the Confederate States Submarine the H L Hunley, one of the earliest successful submarines. We spent some time walking around it and examining its features and design. For myself, having an interest in not only history but submarines as well, I could not think of a better person to have shared this experience with. I recall thinking at the time how fortunate I was to be examining this historical model with an expert on Submarines.
Thank you Uncle Frank, I will miss you.
