Dear Natalie, you do not know me, but I knew your mother in high school. I lived in Omaha and a group of girls and I spent a weekend with Jane in Nebraska City. She was sooo much fun. I moved from Omaha right after high school to Brooklyn, New York, then to STATEN island where I lived for 20 years. I´m back on STATEN island now after living in Virginia for 18 years. I wish I had kept up with Jane because Conn. is not that far away. I´ve been thinking about Jane for a while and decided to look her up. So sorry for your loss, may she continue to Rest In Peace!!!

Today is September 8,2023 and I am just learning that Jane passed away! I am shocked. Gone too soon. We worked together and played together in the early 70´s while teaching at Harbor School in New London. I loved Natalie at that time a little girl, and Clarence! So long ago but some fabulous memories. We lost touch over the years unfortunately! For me! My deep sympathies to Natalie and her family!

TO THE FAMILY OF JANE LOUISE; I AM WRITING THIS ON BEHALF OF MY MOTHER ARLENE KERR DORSEY. WE ARE SO SORRY TO HEAR OF HER PASSING. THE LAST TIME WE SAW HER WAS AT MRS. MARY GIVEHAND'S BIRTHDAY PARTY IN NEBRASKA CITY A FEW YEARS AGO. MY MOTHER WAS HAPPY TO SEE HER AND EVERYONE ELSE. I WOULD SEE HER AT MY GRANDMOTHER ERNESTINE KERR'S HOUSE IN OMAHA, NE AND SHE WAS ALWAYS SO VIBRANT, LIVELY. WE ARE KEEPING THE FAMILY IN OUR PRAYERS. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND COMFORT YOU DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME AND THE DAYS AHEAD.

My heartfelt condolences to Natalie, Jane's mom and the rest of the family. A positive force in the New London community and beyond, Jane's love of reading extended to a women's book club which explored a wide range of publications, discussed, debated and analyzed key issues while sharing good food, friendship and camaraderie.
Rest in Peace, dear Jane.

Jane was one of the best and most influential supervisors I ever worked for. I still refer to her lessons in leadership and much of what she taught me informs my work and my life to this day. Her sense of humor and infectious laugh brightened many a day for me in the Children's Department at the Groton Public Library. So sorry for your loss.

I had the privilege of witnessing Jane being recognized for her lifetime body of work, by the African-American Affairs Commission, State of Connecticut; hosted by Commission Officer Rosetta Jones. Jane was very happy, as the picture shows. Her total body of work did not go unrecognized, as she received the award before a packed house, at the capitol building in Hartford. My condolences to Jane's family. I am certainly richer in experience because of her loving work in various communities.

Jane was a fun energetic classmate in our class of 1965 . As recently as August her witty personality and laughter filled the room during our mini reunion. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of her friends and family. Her passing brought shock and sadness to those of us who heard the news. The most common phrase on social media is that heaven gained an angel.
