Joanne Dupont Obituary
Born in Taunton, Mass., she was the daughter of the late John and Eleanor Giles.
Joanne worked as a prep cook for Burger King. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dogs. She also loved to clip coupons, go shopping and watch soap operas. Joanne's ultimate dream was to use all her coupons in one shopping trip.
She is survived by her husband Richard; and their two daughters, Dawn Dunn and husband Chuck of Gales Ferry and Dorene Guimond and husband Mark of Uncasville. She will also be missed by her four grandchildren, Richard, Emily, Meredith and Justin; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Carter; and several nieces and nephews. Joanne was predeceased by her brother William Giles; and sister Barbara Barger.
All services will be private. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce Street, Westerly is in care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Joanne may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. For online condolences please visit www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com.

I went to grade school with joanne at washington school on vernon st. In taunton mass.68 years ago! She was a sweet girl ! I send my condolences !

My sincere sympathies to the Dupont family, 35 years ago I had the pleasure of working with joanne at burger king, for 5 years we were side by side either making the salad prep or working the burger board ect.. although she was there before me and had more experience, I was just a young kid but I always looked up to her, and from time to time I thought about her over the years and what a good person she was. My heart goes out to her family, i'm sure she will be deeply missed.

What can I say that isn’t known? Aunt Joanne was like another mother to me!! I’ll never forget her willingness to dance the mother son dance at my first wedding when my grandmother didn’t feel up to it. I heard several times while I was growing up that I was the son she never had. Plenty of memories of family camping trips here, there and everywhere. You will be missed but at least the family is together again to watch over us that are still here. Lots of LOVE for you my dear aunt!!❤❤
