Joanne Mounts Obituary
Funeral services will be held graveside at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, in Beth El Cemetery, Groton, with Rabbi Earl Kideckel of Congregation Beth El officiating.
Joanne was born in New London, to Abraham Arthur Ribner and Martha Sulman Nov. 4, 1942. She attended New London High School and graduated in 1961. She then attended Chamberlain Junior College and Chandler School for Women in Boston, Mass., and graduated in 1964.
She worked as a home health aide for the VNA of Southeastern Connecticut for 25 years showing kindness and compassion to many patients. This kindness was returned to Joanne during her illness this past year by the wonderful caregivers at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital and Bayview Health Center.
Joanne is bereaved by her longtime friend Myron Thompson. She is survived by her son Daniel Mounts (Billie Jean) of Mason, Ohio; her son Paul Mounts of New London; her brother Robert Ribner of Noank; her grandchildren: Brandon Despenes, Kelsey Krol, Taryn Santos and Daniel Mounts Jr.; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Visiting Nurses Association of Southeast Connecticut. Arrangements are by Thomas Neilan and Sons Funeral Home.

Dear Danny, Paul I'm sending U my heartfelt sympathy at the recent loss of your "wonderful" mom! I've known her since we were teenagers and shared many wonderful, exciting times together as we have grown older and the legacy she has left in both of U and your families to share with the world with GREAT PRIDE! I will miss her very much! Whenever we talked it was like a day never passed and we'd start with a little giggle, and I will miss that forever! May she rest in peace.
