John C. Brown

1949 - 2021

New London - John C. Brown was born Aug. 17, 1949, and passed from this earth March 11, 2021; he was 71 years of age.

John leaves behind his Seacorp/The Arc Eastern Connecticut Family; his guardian and friend Earl Peters of Old Lyme; and a rich assortment of people whose lives were touch by him and his amazing spirit.

John will be remembered for his strength, compassion, and sense of humor. Most notably he will be remembered for his love of a good tale, his enrichment of every story and his innate ability to get people to move their cars by yelling at them out the window. John had the ability to cross over to so many people, allowing all to love him, to embrace his spirit as well as his disability.

He was an avid car lover, having spent birthdays riding in limos and Mustangs. John enjoyed listening to sirens of firetrucks, ambulances and police cars. And most of all, he loved inventing tales about how he was involved in all the noise and activity. John will be greatly missed by his housemates, by the people who cared for him every day, and by so many. He leaves behind amazing memories of a man who lived life every day with a sense of purpose and fun. Goodbye, Brownie: you were loved.

Fulton Theroux Funeral Home in New London oversees arrangements and burial will be graveside at 11 a.m. March 18, 2021, at Jordan Cemetery, 230 Boston Post Road, Waterford.
