Dear family and friends of Jack,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Jack´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor in the U.S. Submarine Force.
To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country.
To the family... "may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).
Jim Sandman, FTC(SS) Ret,
National Chaplain, USSVI.

I met Jack at NUSC. He took me under his wing and taught me about Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and the Navy system. He was technically great to work with both at NUSC and on the road - and his sense of humor always made the work interesting and fun. One minor example of this is the time he received an unofficial award for moving the most people at NUSC in the least amount of time - an impressive feat that even the NUSC Captains never accomplished, even though he did it while joking with a group of people during a Christmas Party and his hand accidentally hit a Fire Alarm causing the whole building to empty out!! I really enjoyed working with him and was not prepared for the announcement of his retirement from NUSC. I couldn't imagine what the place would be like without him. Fair winds and following seas, Jack, you were the greatest.
