Joyce Reynolds Obituary
Joyce was born and educated in Chicago, Ill. She was fascinated by the field of medicine and graduated from the Radiological Technology School at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (CCMT) and was a nursing degree candidate at Western Connecticut State University.
She was always reinventing herself and enjoyed various careers in health and wellness. She was a member of the faculty of CCMT and owned Healing Touches, a massage therapy center in Hartford. Previously, she worked as an X-ray technician at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and was co-owner of Women At Large, a fitness center for women.
She was a lover of nature, animals, driving adventures, crossword puzzles, and travel. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted partner, Ali Upton and her beloved dog, Raggsie. She was the proud mother of eight children, including her son, John Reynolds and wife, Laura of Clinton; her daughter, Sara Reynolds Parker and husband, Timothy of West Hartford; her daughter, Connie Reynolds Dietz and husband, Bill of Luzerne, Iowa; her son, Representative Tom Reynolds and wife, Trina of Gales Ferry; and her daughter, Jenii Reynolds Robinson and husband, Dwight of Miramar, Fla. She was the loving grandmother of twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Jean Gluth; her step-brother, Joseph Gluth and her daughter, Kate Reynolds.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 119 Junction Road, Brookfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy or Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) of Connecticut.

Dear Ali, i am so sorry for your loss. Although I didn't know you very well, i was blessed to have been a part of Joyce's care at danbury hospital. She was truly a lovely lady. I believe that we all are better people for having had Joyce in our lives. I will never forget her or her friendship. She helped me through a rough time and did it with a lot of love and compassion. She loved her children and was so proud of everything they did. She will be missed by those she touched.

I have many fond memories of Joyce and our time together as Radiological Technology students, and later as Technologist's at Lawrence & Memorial. She was a very special person with a quick witt and a caring and compassionate manner. My deepest sympathies to her family.

Joyce, the miracle woman, will live with us all in our hearts, minds, and collective muscle memory forever. We're better for having had her here and diminished by her leaving us only if we forget to pat dogs, to smile at young children, to laugh at adversity, and to forward great email. Thank you, Joyce.

Dear Aunt Joyce,
Some of my best memories were of the family trips we made to Ames, Iowa to visit you, Uncle Al and all of our cousins. Although there were 15 kids together in one place, the large house and yard were plenty of room for all of us to play. I remember we had a lot of fun then. You will be missed, but not forgotten.

Sorry to hear about Joyce. Joyce kept the ER alive during her 11-7 shift; I always enjoyed working with her and seeing her at 7 AM. She had a way of approaching things with a positive attitude and always got the job done. To Ali, all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren Joyce always started everyones day off right. I am so glad I knew her. Deepest sympathies, you all are in my thoughts and prayers.
