Kenneth Hvarre Obituary

North Haven - Kenneth W. Hvarre, 92, of Cricket Court, North Haven, passed away at Connecticut Hospice on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012. He was the husband of the late Lucy J. Hvarre.

Born in Kearny, N.J., he was the son of the late Carl M. and Grace Hvarrre.

Kenneth worked in quality control for General Dynamics in Groton for many years until his retirement. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, who served 18 months in the European Theatre, he was a life member of the Harley P. Chase VFW Post 1265.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth P. Hvarre of Uncasville and Eric Hvarre of North Stonington; a daughter, Kimberly Stoll of North Haven; six grandchildren, Hannah, Ruth, Kenneth, Jeremy, Samantha, Christopher; and five great-grandchildren, Vincent, Abigail, Robert, Justina, and Alex.

He was predeceased by a son, Carl M. Hvarre.

Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, North Stonington.
