Lori Kapolowicz Obituary

Clinton - Lori A. Kapolowicz, 53, of Clinton, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023, surrounded by her family at home. Lori was born in New London, the daughter of Thomas and the late Opal Kapolowicz of North Stonington.

She leaves behind her loving family - her dad Thomas and his wife Anita; her sister Cheryl Benoit; her husband Aaron; and niece Emma Rose; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. An avid animal lover, she will be missed by her best friend, her beloved dog Barkley, who now resides with Cheryl.

Lori enjoyed working at Schumack Engineered Construction, who were like a second family to her. We are grateful for their kindness and accommodations throughout all the years. Lori was an amazing woman, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was so young, so vibrant, so loved, and so genuine. Lori had a huge, giving heart, always helping and going the extra mile for anyone. She was "the giver."

She will always be in our hearts forever! "Lori, you are with your Mom and family in heaven. Rest in peace!"

There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass for Lori will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at St. Thomas More Church located on Route 201 in North Stonington. Following her Mass, she will be buried with her Mom at the Elm Grove Cemetery on Route 27 in Mystic. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to the St. Michael Capital Campaign, 60 Liberty Street, Pawcatuck, CT 06379. Lori's arrangements will be handled by the Mystic Funeral Home.

I was so saddened to learn of Lori passing. I´ve known her for so many years from Napa of Groton. She trained me in the office, and she was the sweetest, kindest and ever so patient a person could ever hope to have as a friend! Lori...you will never be forgotten and shall always have a special place in my heart...thank you for the gift...of you.

Tom, Cheryl and extended family and friends,
I´m sorry to hear that Lori has passed away. Although we didn´t really know each other that well I always enjoyed seeing her at the bank or parts store. Always with a great smile. Like her mom, she was way to young to go. My condolences on your loss. Rest is peace Lori
