Melissa Dorsett Obituary
Missy was a loving mother and leaves behind her three children: Alexia, Antonio, and Angelo of New London. She also leaves behind both her parents; three sisters and two brothers; Julie, Kevin, Jennifer, Lisa and Joseph, along with many nieces, nephews and numerous family members and friends, and her favorite four-legged child Stella.
After graduating from high school, she chased her dreams of becoming a hairdresser. She was talented and loved making her clients look and feel beautiful at Foxwoods' GSpa. She also loved working with children and enjoyed working as a para-professional for the Montville Board of Education.
Missy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at the beach, and loved trying new activities. She was young, beautiful, vibrant and full of life. She was a caring mother, daughter, sister and friend.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church, 10 Huntington St., New London. Burial is private. Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London, is assisting the family. Please visit www.Byles.com to sign the guestbook or to share a memory.

I'm heartbroken to hear of this news, I was a client of Missy's at gspa and became friends she was the nicest, warmest most lovely woman, so beautiful and vibrant just like was written about her. She came out to ride horses with me with her children once years ago. My deepest sympathy to her friends and family. She would light up talking about her children I could tell she was a wonderful mother to them. May God be with you all in this time of grief and may she look down on all of you and watch over you and guide you through your lives. My beautiful cuz !! I will never forget the good times we had with each other !
Thank you for always telling me I work too much and need a self care day ! You would have me come to the G-Spa and relax for the day you always made me feel like a Queen for the day !!
I will never forgot the time we ran into each other in NYC how crazy and yet still felt great to give you a big hug !
It meant so much that you had given me approval that my Husband was the one and it meant so much that you were able to be a part of are wedding !
You were amazing at your job we would talk about hair and makeup and you would just smile and say “I just love it when my clients smile and love what I did”

Although I didn’t know Melissa, I know how much her family loved her and that she will be deeply missed.

Missy is/was my baby sister. She was a beautiful,smart, loving soul. She had a funny side to her and a smirk that you knew she was thinking something. She was adventurous and loved many things but most of all she loved her children. She would plaster the world with pictures of their amazing accomplishments. And just their faces...she is and was so proud of all three of them. She was my baby sister and I wish we had had more time. I love you with all my heart till we meet again.....you are always on my mind.
