Monique Davenport Obituary

North Franklin - Monique Alma Davenport, 80, of North Franklin and formerly of Groton and Preston, died July 24, 2024, at Hartford Hospital after a long illness, with her children at her bedside.

Born in Lewiston, Maine, Oct. 23, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Evelyn (Deslauriers) Roy, also of Lewiston Maine, and sister of the late Gloria (Roy) Ingersoll, of Garden City, Michigan.

She was a career military spouse who settled in southeastern Connecticut in 1978 and ultimately became a well-respected employee of Foxwoods Casino. Monique was also a nationally renowned AKC dog trainer and obedience show ring judge.

Survivors include her children, Linda Davis and spouse Tim of New Mexico, Malcolm Davenport Jr. and spouse Denise of Wood River Junction, R.I.; five step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren; and her beloved cat, Cleo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends and family send a small donation to their local no-kill animal shelter in her honor.
