Paul Allen Grover

Waterford - Paul Allen Grover passed away peacefully July 17, 2025. Paul was born in Portland, Maine. He grew up in the town of Topsham, Maine. Paul was predeceased by his wife Rita in 2010.

After serving in the U.S. Navy and earning an honorable discharge in 1952, Paul lived and worked in Hartford. He eventually became a resident of Waterford, in the Pleasure Beach area in 1965. Paul was a member of the Goshen

Fire Department, as well as a long-time volunteer for the Waterford Historical

Society. Paul was the superintendent of grounds at the New London Country Club in Waterford.

Paul will be remembered for his gardening skills, love of the outdoors, passion for fishing and his generosity towards neighbors and friends. He had a love of music, often attending music events, and befriending members of the Coast Guard Band. You would often find Paul out and about enjoying music, friends, and food. He taught us not to sweat the small stuff and to keep life simple.

He is survived by extended family in Maine and his neighborhood family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24, at St. Agnes Church, Haigh Avenue, Niantic. There are no calling hours. The Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 48 Grand Street, Niantic is assisting the family.
